Finding Success in Fitness

By February 15, 2018Blogs

IF YOU DO NOT FILL YOUR DAY WITH THINGS THAT ARE MOST IMPORTANT AND INSPIRE YOU, YOU WILL FILL YOUR DAY WITH THINGS THAT DON’T.

**Read this statement again….and again, and again, until it really sinks in.**

Example: If you have a VERY busy schedule, and you find yourself saying, "I just don't have time" here is what's going on- You are lacking freedom, not time. You don't have the "freedom" you want. There is enough time in a day, week, and year, you just haven't made the time for things most important to you. You can fill in the blank here, “I want more freedom to_________...enjoy my family, go on more vacations, not work so many hours, ski more worry less”...
A lot of the time we tend to fill our schedules with things that don't inspire us or help move us forward. Knowing or unknowingly we all do this and need help stepping back and analyzing the big picture. Are you really living the life you want? Do you have the freedom to pursue your goals? If you value "free time" but don't value a structured schedule, will you ever have the freedom you want?

Sacrifice is key. What needs to be cut out, and what needs to be added in?

If you want to live fulfilled, you have to make choices EACH AND EVERY DAY that move you in the direction of what you value most. As a coach, we help bring awareness to these choices. So often, I hear people talk about the lack of control or authority they have over their lives as if life is something that is merely happening ‘to’ them. This would be a victim mindset. You are a powerful person and life doesn’t have to just happen to you - you can create it! One of the greatest joys I have as a coach is when I have helped transform one's mindset and truly live a powerful life. Fitness, for me, is an expression of who I am and the way I live my life. It's not a "thing" I do but an avenue which I live through. I have witnessed and been involved in helping countless people live richer, deeper lives by taking ownership of their health and fitness. I believe your spirit cannot truly soar unless your physical body is well taken care of.

The way you create this life is by implementing sustainable structures that you can consistently repeat on a daily basis. Most people's history with fitness has been short-lived and has left them disappointed. Loosing 20 pounds, only to gain it back. He used to bench press 200lbs but now struggles with push-ups. We are very adamant at LOTUS in our efforts to help people create a realistic way of living. Without taking action every day and dedicating time to your health, the likelihood of achieving fulfillment is slim.

In the fitness industry, it is so easy to get caught up in the hype, the new flashy things, what gives quick results, what your friends tell you to do or what some trainer is telling you to do. Don't get me wrong, I believe that SUCCESS = RESULTS but the truth is, consistency has to be developed first! No “program” will work for the long run if it isn’t built into your daily life. This takes time, hard work and practice. Yes, it comes easier for some than for others, but it has to happen no matter what.

I would like to give my Personal Nutrition Client a shout out for creating consistency!

We meet every Monday going over the past week and looking for how we can upgrade the daily routine.

With NO working out she has lost 13.6 pounds of fat, increased her Basal Metabolic Rate (metabolism) from 1518 kcal to 1535 kcal and lost NO muscle!

Consistency isn't created from outside motivation. It's designed by what truly inspires us from within. Remember…

IF YOU DO NOT FILL YOUR DAY WITH THINGS THAT ARE MOST IMPORTANT AND INSPIRE YOU, YOU WILL FILL YOUR DAY WITH THINGS THAT DON’T.

How do you fill your days?
Are you investing in your health?
How long do you really want to live?
Do you really want to look better naked?
