Let's take a little journey together. I want you to think back to a time in your life where you had a dream or goal. Oh the inception process, the excitement is high as well as the motivation! I remember when I was a chubby fat kid, my parents of course said I was "husky" haha bless their heart it was a little more than that! I would day dream about having six pack abs and ripped muscles. I literally went through two of those 10-minute magic ab belts that did the contractions for you! I tried every fat burning thermogenic supplement I could get my hands on. Laying in bed fantasizing about how it would feel walking to the pool, taking my shirt off, and be completely comfortable and 100% confident. You must understand, I was on a swim team and the speedo wasn't quite my thing. I reluctantly wore it for performance enhancement because believe me, I needed it. I also dreamed of owning my own business one day and what that must feel like walking into a room as the boss. What would that sense of accomplishment and success feel like?
As we get older we seem to lose this sense of personal vision and ambition. In part, it's because reality hits us like a Mack truck. We realize how much work and effort it actually takes to stand on top the mountain of our dreams and capture the success flag. This leads us to my favorite quote:
“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that
were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions
that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid
to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”

As I'm about to show you, fitness unlocks your potential by increasing your value. But first, you must believe you are worth it.
In hindsight a switch happened. I started to focus less on surface level goals and more on the deeper purpose. You see, it became less about six pack abs and more about having confidence and being comfortable in my body. It was less about owning my own business and more about feeling accomplishment and success. The key that connected this more than anything was fitness. It became my vehicle to these destinations. I started to feeling strong and capable. As my physical capabilities grew so did those feelings of success and accomplishment. I became more and more resilient to stress and enjoyed higher levels of energy. For this to happen I had to stop thinking about myself as a fat, lazy kid and start valuing who I was. You don't put shitty gas in a Ferrari, you use the good stuff.
Take a minute and think about the person you want to be. What do you want to change? What things do you want to have? What body do you want? Now, what does life look like once that becomes a reality? You have all the energy you want, what does your business or work life look like? You can actually fit into that dress, now what? Start today and take action! Embrace yourself as a worthy investment, and increase your value. Here at LOTUS we coach our clients and help them establish these connections which leads them in unlocking their true potential. We see it every day, little by little, progress is being made and people are living a larger life.
