One of the things I love about being a health and fitness coach is seeing people getting stronger… from clients hitting new personal records with their lifts, getting their first pull-up, or building visible muscles! But even with how great these things are I find the greatest joy in seeing people realize how powerful they are from the INSIDE out.
What does a powerful person look like?
In Danny Silk’s article, “Relational Intelligence”, he lists 8 traits of powerful people. I am going to share 3 of those below:
They Refuse to Be a Victim:
“Life doesn’t happen to powerful people. Powerful people are happening.”Take a moment to think about where you are in relation to your goals and the life you want to live. Are you living that life and getting closer to your goals? If the answer is no. Then I would challenge you to ask yourself why? Then pay attention to the answers that follow. Are you blaming your circumstances or the people around you? We may not have control over our circumstances or the people around us but we do have control over how we respond.
They Make Daily Decisions That Align With Their Vision:
“Powerful people have a vision and mission for their life, and can use the events of each day, whether positive or negative, to direct themselves toward that vision.” What is your vision and mission for your life? Take a few minutes today and write some thoughts down. Then review them at the start of each day to remind yourself of the life you want to be living so you can start making decisions that align with that vision.
They Love Unconditionally:
“A powerful person’s choice to love will stand, no matter what the other person does or says.” I would add that this also includes loving yourself unconditionally. We are all going to make mistakes along the way but powerful people learn from those mistakes, forgive themselves, and move forward.
Our vision at LOTUS is it see our clients living in a powerful way. A way that explodes their own personal growth, from business to relationships and adventures beyond.
By fully taking responsibility for your life you are taking control of it. At LOTUS we use fitness as a medium, a vehicle of sorts, to attain that which is most valuable and important to us; it’s about creating the life you want to live, and living in freedom.
